Hiring the right person is one of the most important decisions that an organization can make. Finding the right individual for the right position at the right time is a complex challenge best met with the assistance of a niche firm that has a proven track record in the biopharma sector.

Candidates
Making the decision to examine new career opportunities is a critical step in managing ones career, and the decision to become a candidate for a search can be fraught with a variety of unknowns.
Because of the uncertainty associated with this process we are extremely discreet in all contact with candidates, making every effort to protect a candidate's confidentiality. We communicate frequently, keeping individuals informed of the status and any developments influencing the search. We explore key issues with candidates, communicating these considerations to clients and negotiating positive resolutions.
We adhere to a code of professional ethics that values honesty and integrity, and we strive to partner with those who share the same values.
Search Process
Much like the systematic process of drug development, our search process follows several critical phases that bring us to the Hire Stage.
Search Strategy & Needs Assessment
The foundation for the entire search process is laid in this initial phase. Dialog starts with stakeholders who have direct interest in the position to be filled and who will ultimately participate in the interviews. This process begins with a detailed discussion of the critical business issues that the recruitment will address and the essential requirements of the position.
Talent Sourcing
The goal at this stage is to identify desired prospects and bring them to the attention of our client. Consequently, our efforts are not restricted to readily accessible candidates. An extensive cross-reference network of health care contacts provides us with targeted referrals to supplement our extensive database.
With no compelling reason to seek a new position, candidates may be understandably reluctant to jeopardize their present position by pursuing other options. In most cases, this reluctance can be negated by ensuring total confidentiality, thereby eliminating the threat to job security. By addressing such issues as compensation, benefits, scope of function and responsibility, path of advancement, quality of life, and the individual’s comparative marketability, we can broaden his or her perspective.
Our informed, professional approach and expert recruiting skills often prove to be the primary factors
influencing an employed candidate to actively pursue a client’s opportunity. The interaction that we
have with candidates greatly increases the prospect of attracting the best talent to our client
organizations, and our commitment to managing long-term candidate relationships further strengths this
bond and therefore enhances our access to top talent.
Interviews
Once our initial interviews are completed, a short list is produced by evaluating the candidate pool and
prioritizing the most suitable individuals. We assist the client in understanding why the candidate is
interested in exploring the opportunity and the areas that are most important to them. We also help the
candidate with research and provide pertinent information that will assist them in making an informed
decision. After the interview, debriefings are conducted with both parties to aid in making a decision on
whether they want to continue the process, and eventually extend or accept an offer.
Hire Stage
In an increasingly competitive market for top talent, a careful and experienced approach to closing a search
can make the difference between success and failure. As we build relationships with candidates throughout
the search process, we are better able to monitor and address potential concerns about the position as they
arise, thus minimizing any uncertainty as we proceed towards the hire stage. Clients and candidates can use
our in-depth knowledge in market compensation and benefits to develop a competitive package. After a
successful candidate has started the job, we maintain a dialog with both parties to ensure smooth
integration and the achievement of performance goals.
Biopharmaceuticals Today
The biopharma industry is one of the most innovative and progressive sectors within the field of life sciences. This sector encompasses a wide range of organizations, from large multinationals to small and innovative start-ups.
Over the past decade, more and more smaller biopharma companies are deciding to launch their own
innovative medicines. These are niche players and often first time launchers, and among the numerous
factors essential for success, one of the most critical is the ability to seek out and attract top
talent. Of particular importance is to build a core team early, in many cases 18-24 months pre-launch.
These are the key stakeholders who help create the vision, culture, and structure of these emerging
biopharma organizations.
These new companies hold great promise for the future of bringing innovative medicines to patients around the globe, and with the combination of these new therapies and the talented stakeholders behind those efforts, the possibilities for this sector are endless.
